Title:

The Role of Sustainability in Planning Practice
One of a series of seminars

Location:

Drivers Jonas, Leeds

With the sustainability band wagon rolling on relentlessly, it can be difficult to disentangle genuine sustainable development from the green wash. Planning, together with building regulations, has a massive role to play in shaping our sustainable future, certainly until such time that the true cost of unsustainable buildings and communities are reflected in the property market.

This seminar was one of a series of sustainability seminars ran for Women in Property to highlight the ever growing awareness of sustainability in the property and construction industry. This particular event was presented by Jon Lovell - Head of Sustainability at Drivers Jonas in November 2007, and explored how the planning system is responding to the challenge of sustainable development, where limitations and tensions persist, and what can be expected of policy, regulation and market forces in the future.

The series of seminars has encouraged many women and a number of men to attend using the time against their CPD.
